The purpose of the Air Force Reserve Officers & Training Corps program is to instill in students the value of citizenship,
service to the United States, personal responsibility, and sense of accomplishment. The four-year program at Tucker High School
includes classroom academic studies, team building/leadership opportunities, intramural competition, field trips and summer
training opportunities. Scholarships/service academy opportunities are available to students who participate. Benefits and
advanced enlistment opportunities are available for students who desire to join the military.
To enroll in the Air Force Junior ROTC program, a student must be a citizen of the United States, in good academic standing,
and be able to participate in physical education. Each male cadet is required to wear his hair in a neat style that does not
touch his ears, or cover his forehead or collar. The hair must present a tapered appearance on the sides and at the back of
the neck while in the Air Force uniform. In a similar manner, each female cadet must wear her hair (up) in a neat style, which
doe not fall below the collar while in the Air Force uniform. Females are not required to get their hair cut short to meet
Air Force standards. Uniforms are issued to cadets and must be worn one day of each school week.
